Apple Raises Prices Across Product Lineup as Hardware Costs Surge

Apple has introduced significant price increases across several product categories, citing rising costs in semiconductors and storage components. The updated pricing affects a wide range of devices, particularly Mac computers and iPads, with some products seeing increases of up to 30%.

The technology giant has been facing the same supply chain challenges impacting the broader electronics industry. Growing demand for memory chips and ongoing component shortages have pushed manufacturing costs higher, prompting Apple to revise its pricing strategy.

Mac Lineup Receives Major Price Adjustments

Among the most affected products is the Mac family. Apple's new MacBook Neo now starts at $699, up from $599, while the Touch ID-equipped version has increased to $799.

The popular MacBook Air lineup now begins at $1,299. Professional users will also notice higher prices across the MacBook Pro range, with the 14-inch model starting at $1,999 and the 16-inch version priced from $2,999.

High-end configurations of the 16-inch MacBook Pro can now reach nearly $10,000, highlighting the growing cost of premium computing hardware.

Desktop Macs Also See Price Hikes

Apple’s desktop computers have not escaped the latest pricing changes. The iMac now starts at $1,499, while the Mac Studio has been repositioned at a starting price of $2,499.

iPad Prices Increase Across the Board

The company’s tablet lineup has also been updated. The 11-inch iPad Pro now starts at $1,199, while the larger 13-inch version carries a price tag of $1,499.

The iPad Air now starts at $749, the standard iPad at $449, and the compact iPad mini has risen to $599.

Home Devices and Vision Pro Become More Expensive

Apple has also increased prices for several home and entertainment products. The HomePod now costs $349, while the HomePod mini has climbed to $129 following a substantial price increase.

Apple TV is now priced at $199, and the company’s mixed-reality headset Vision Pro starts at $3,699. The top-tier 1TB model now costs $4,199.

iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods Remain Unchanged

One notable aspect of the latest pricing update is that Apple has not adjusted the prices of its iPhone lineup, Apple Watch models, or AirPods products.

Industry analysts, however, warn that continued pressure on component costs could eventually lead to price increases across these categories as well.
