New Dacia Spring Renderings Reveal a Bold New Direction for the Budget EV

The Dacia Spring, one of Europe's most affordable electric vehicles, is preparing for a complete transformation with its second generation. Following the release of the first official teaser images, independent automotive designers have created digital renderings that offer a glimpse of what the upcoming model could look like.

With a more refined design, European production, and an upgraded platform, the new Spring is expected to be a significant step forward compared to its predecessor.

A Fresh and More Modern Design

Dacia recently confirmed the name of the second-generation Spring and shared the first official teaser images highlighting the rear of the vehicle. Based on these previews, digital artists have produced realistic renderings inspired by Renault Group's latest design language.

The new model is expected to feature the sharp body lines, muscular styling, and signature Y-shaped LED lighting seen on the latest Duster and Bigster models.

Compared to the compact appearance of the current generation, the upcoming Spring is likely to adopt a wider stance and more pronounced wheel arches, giving it a stronger and more confident road presence.

Production Moves to Europe

One of the biggest changes concerns manufacturing. Industry reports suggest that the next-generation Spring will no longer be produced in China.

Instead, production is expected to move to Europe, where the model will share both its platform and assembly line with the upcoming Renault Twingo. This transition should improve logistics while strengthening Dacia's presence in the European electric vehicle market.

Practical Cabin Remains a Priority

Despite its fresh design, Dacia plans to preserve the Spring's practical philosophy.

According to the company, the new model will continue to offer four genuine seats and a usable luggage compartment suitable for everyday driving. Since it is expected to share its architecture with the new Renault Twingo, cargo capacity could be close to 360 liters.

Expected Powertrain and Range

Although official specifications have yet to be confirmed, industry insiders believe the new Spring will feature a 60 kW electric motor paired with a 27.5 kWh LFP battery pack.

The expected WLTP driving range is approximately 260 kilometers, while DC fast charging speeds of up to 50 kW are also anticipated.

These specifications would position the new Spring as an ideal urban electric vehicle focused on affordability and efficiency.

A Stronger Competitor in the Affordable EV Market

The current facelifted Spring will remain on sale for some time before the all-new European-built version arrives.

If the production model closely follows the leaked renderings, the next-generation Dacia Spring could become one of the strongest contenders in Europe's affordable electric vehicle segment, combining modern styling with practical technology at a competitive price.
