Lando Norris claimed victory at the 2025 Mexican Grand Prix after a commanding performance in Mexico City. The McLaren driver crossed the finish line ahead of Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari and Max Verstappen’s Red Bull, marking another highlight in an increasingly competitive season.
Norris maintained his pole position at the start as chaos unfolded behind him. Ferrari’s Leclerc briefly snatched the lead but had to yield it back after running wide. Verstappen, starting from fifth on medium tires, managed to climb into third after a daring first-lap move.
One of the race’s pivotal moments came during a fierce duel between Lewis Hamilton and Verstappen, which resulted in contact and a 10-second penalty for Hamilton after gaining an advantage off track. Meanwhile, Haas rookie Oliver Bearman impressed once again by climbing to fourth place.
The race stabilized in the second half, with Norris confidently controlling the pace while Leclerc and Verstappen trailed closely behind. A late Virtual Safety Car caused by Carlos Sainz’s retirement didn’t alter the outcome — Norris took the chequered flag first, securing a crucial win that put him atop the drivers’ standings. Ferrari reclaimed second place in the Constructors’ Championship, while Bearman, Piastri, and the Mercedes duo completed the top seven.
