A New Era for WhatsApp: You’ll Soon Be Able to Chat With People Who Don’t Have an Account

One of the world’s most widely used messaging platforms, WhatsApp, is currently developing a new feature that could significantly change how people communicate through the app. Known as “Guest Chats,” this feature will allow users to start conversations even with people who do not have a WhatsApp account.

The feature is still under development but is expected to be released for both Android and iOS devices once it becomes available. The main idea behind the system is simple yet practical: users will no longer have to wait for someone to download the app or create an account in order to communicate through WhatsApp.

The system will work through invitation links. A WhatsApp user will be able to generate a special chat link from within the app and send it to another person. Even if the recipient does not have a WhatsApp account, they will be able to open the link in a web browser and access a temporary chat interface.

This approach could be particularly useful in professional communication, customer support services, or situations where only a short conversation is required. For example, companies could easily communicate with customers without requiring them to install the app.

However, the guest chat feature will come with certain limitations designed to protect security and prevent spam. The system will only support one-to-one messaging, meaning group chats will not be available. Additionally, voice and video calls will not be supported.

Media sharing will also be restricted. Guests will not be able to send photos, videos, or GIFs within these conversations. Despite these limitations, message security will remain a priority, as conversations will still be protected with end-to-end encryption.

By introducing guest chats, WhatsApp aims to make communication more accessible while still maintaining the platform’s security standards and preventing abuse.

Although an official release date has not yet been announced, the feature could become one of the most significant updates to WhatsApp’s messaging ecosystem.
