The 2025 Singapore Grand Prix delivered another thrilling night under the Marina Bay lights. Starting from pole position, George Russell executed a flawless race to claim victory, while McLaren sealed the 2025 Constructors’ Championship thanks to their third and fourth-place finishes.
Russell, starting on medium tyres, managed to fend off Max Verstappen—who was on soft tyres—at the opening corner. Behind them, the two McLaren drivers battled fiercely for third place, even making slight contact. Meanwhile, Charles Leclerc, starting from seventh, showcased impressive pace to climb up to fifth.
As the laps unfolded, Russell extended his lead over Verstappen, building a gap of around five seconds by lap 10. A brief scare came when Lando Norris brushed the wall, prompting his team to check for damage. Pit stops began soon after, led by Verstappen, as teams adjusted their strategies for the long race ahead.
Apart from Nico HĂĽlkenberg’s spin on lap 45, the rest of the race was relatively smooth. In the closing laps, Verstappen and Norris fought hard for second place, but the Red Bull driver held firm to the end.
After 62 demanding laps, Russell crossed the finish line first, followed by Max Verstappen and Lando Norris. Oscar Piastri finished fourth, Kimi Antonelli fifth, while Ferrari’s duo settled for sixth and seventh. The top ten was rounded out by Fernando Alonso, Oliver Bearman, and Carlos Sainz.
The result confirmed McLaren’s remarkable season as they clinched the 2025 Constructors’ Championship in style.
