Dacia continues its European success story with the refreshed 2026 Sandero and Sandero Stepway. After seven years, the brand’s most popular model undergoes a subtle yet meaningful facelift, combining practicality with a modern edge. As Europe’s top-selling car, with over 300,000 units sold annually, Sandero remains Dacia’s strongest pillar.
At first glance, the design may seem familiar, but a closer look reveals thoughtful updates. The new “inverted T” LED headlights mark a first in Sandero’s history, complemented by a redesigned grille and bumper. The taillights also adopt the same T-shaped signature, while the black insert connecting them in the Stepway version brings to mind the iconic Renault 5.
Dacia has not only refined aesthetics but also focused on sustainability. Elements such as wheel arch trims, fog lamp housings, and underbody protection panels are now made from “Starkle,” a unique material composed of 20% recycled plastic — a significant move toward environmentally conscious manufacturing.
Inside, the cabin draws inspiration from the Duster, featuring upgraded materials and textile finishes that elevate comfort and quality. The new 10.1-inch infotainment system with wireless charging, a 7-inch digital cluster, and the versatile “YouClip” accessory system come as standard features across the lineup.
On the technology side, safety has been enhanced with standard emergency braking and e-call systems. The Stepway variant introduces the new “Hybrid 155” powertrain, pairing a 1.8-liter combustion engine with twin electric motors for a total output of 155 hp and 170 Nm of torque — delivering up to 80% fuel savings in urban driving.
Meanwhile, the “Eco-G 120” LPG variant breaks new ground for Dacia, offering an automatic dual-clutch transmission for the first time. Its 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine produces 120 hp, while the improved LPG tanks enable an impressive 1,590 km total range.
With its refreshed look, improved efficiency, and enhanced features, the Dacia Sandero 2026 redefines affordable mobility — proving that simplicity, innovation, and sustainability can coexist seamlessly on Europe’s roads.
