Apple introduces the M5 iPad Pro: The new powerhouse of AI and performance

Apple has once again captured the spotlight in the tech world with the introduction of the new M5-powered iPad Pro. Designed to push the limits of performance and artificial intelligence, the latest iPad Pro brings major improvements in graphics, multitasking, and creative workflows like 3D rendering and video editing.

At the heart of the device lies the M5 chip, featuring a 10-core GPU and an enhanced CPU, each equipped with Neural Accelerators that accelerate AI-driven tasks. According to Apple, the M5 delivers up to 3.5 times faster AI performance compared to the M4 and 5.6 times faster than the M1. This makes complex creative tasks in apps like Draw Things and DaVinci Resolve faster and smoother than ever. The 16-core Neural Engine further enhances on-device AI processes while maintaining power efficiency.

On the graphics side, Apple’s third-generation ray-tracing engine boosts 3D rendering speeds by 6.7x over the M1 and 1.5x over the M4. The 10-core CPU—featuring four performance and six efficiency cores—enables seamless multitasking and smooth operation with large projects.

Hardware improvements are also substantial. The M5 iPad Pro offers 150 GB/s of memory bandwidth (30% faster than before), 12GB of unified memory, and storage options up to 512GB. Storage speeds are doubled thanks to the new architecture. With iPadOS 26’s new window management system and 60W fast charging that brings 50% power in just 30 minutes, the iPad Pro stands out as a complete productivity machine.

Connectivity gets a major upgrade too. The C1X modem provides 50% faster data transfer and 30% lower power consumption, while the N1 chip enables Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread support for faster, more stable wireless performance.

Design-wise, Apple maintains the sleek elegance of its predecessor while pushing the boundaries of thinness. The 11-inch model is just 5.3 mm thick, and the 13-inch version 5.1 mm. The Ultra Retina XDR display with dual-layer OLED delivers 1000 nits in SDR and 1600 nits in HDR, while the optional nano-texture glass reduces glare and maintains contrast.

The M5 iPad Pro became available starting October 15, reaffirming Apple’s dominance in the premium tablet market.
