F1: Magnussen to miss next race due to penalty points!

Kevin Magnussen, driver for Haas F1 Team, will be unable to participate in the next Formula 1 race due to a 10-second time penalty received at the Italian Grand Prix and his accumulated penalty points.

10-Second Penalty for Magnussen

During the Italian Grand Prix, Magnussen was handed a 10-second time penalty by the race stewards following a collision with Pierre Gasly. This penalty resulted in the addition of two more penalty points to Magnussen’s existing tally.

Exceeding the Penalty Point Limit

The addition of these two points brought Magnussen’s total to 12, surpassing the penalty point limit set by the FIA. According to the rules, this automatically disqualifies the Danish driver from participating in the next race.

Official Statement from the FIA

In an official statement, the FIA said, “The penalty points awarded to Kevin Magnussen for the collision with Pierre Gasly at the Italian Grand Prix have brought his total to 12. Exceeding this limit means Magnussen will not be allowed to race in the next event. This decision has been made in accordance with the FIA International Sporting Code.”

Haas F1 Team to Announce Replacement Driver

The Haas F1 Team has announced that they will be reviewing the situation and will soon reveal the name of the driver who will replace Magnussen in the upcoming race. The decision on who will take his place is highly anticipated.

Magnussen’s absence due to penalty points is a tough blow for both the driver and Haas, highlighting the strict and impactful nature of the penalty point system in Formula 1.
