The Lincoln Lawyer Is Coming to an End: Netflix Confirms Season 5 as the Final Chapter
Netflix has officially announced that The Lincoln Lawyer, one of its most successful legal drama series in recent years, will conclude with its upcoming fifth season. Starring Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haller, the show has maintained a strong performance on the platform for four years and is now preparing for a planned and complete ending.
Series co-showrunners Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez shared their thoughts on the decision, emphasizing that every great story eventually reaches its conclusion. However, they also stressed that having the opportunity to shape that ending themselves is something they deeply value.
According to the creators, their goal was never simply to tell Mickey Haller’s story, but also to ensure that the journey of the characters would receive a meaningful and satisfying conclusion. They described the decision as both emotional and exciting, opening the door for characters to move toward new paths.
Based on bestselling novels by Michael Connelly, The Lincoln Lawyer follows the unconventional lawyer Mickey Haller, who runs his legal practice from the back seat of his Lincoln car rather than a traditional office. The character previously gained popularity through the 2011 film adaptation starring Matthew McConaughey.
The final season will adapt Resurrection Walk, the seventh book in Connelly’s series. Actress Cobie Smulders joins the cast in a major role, portraying Mickey’s long-lost half-sister. Her character seeks Mickey’s help to free a woman who has been wrongly convicted.
Alongside Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, returning cast members include Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole, and Angus Sampson. Familiar faces such as Neve Campbell, Krista Warner, Angelica Marie, and Gigi Zumbado will also appear again, while Amy Aquino, Angela Trimbur, Elpidia Carillo, Nate Corddry, Tricia Helfer, and Keir O'Donnell join as new additions.
The show has continued to perform strongly on Netflix. According to platform data, the latest season remained in Netflix’s global Top 10 English-language series rankings for four weeks and attracted more than 26.4 million views during that period.
Although Netflix has not yet revealed the release date for the ten-episode final season, expectations are high that Mickey Haller’s story will receive a memorable and satisfying ending.
