New Galaxy S26 FE Details Surface: One UI 9 Testing Begins
Samsung’s Fan Edition smartphone lineup has long been popular among users seeking flagship-like features at a more affordable price point. Now, the upcoming Galaxy S26 FE is beginning to attract attention as new information about the device continues to emerge.
According to recent leaks, Samsung has officially started internal testing of Android 17-based One UI 9 for the Galaxy S26 FE. This development suggests that the smartphone has entered an important stage of development and could be getting closer to launch.
Reliable sources indicate that the first software build for the device appeared under the code "S741NKSU0AZE5." In addition, the South Korean version of the smartphone has reportedly been confirmed with the model number SM-S741N.
Expected to launch with One UI 9 out of the box
The leaked information strongly suggests that the Galaxy S26 FE could arrive with One UI 9 pre-installed. This would position the device among Samsung’s first smartphones to feature the company’s newest software experience.
Samsung's upcoming foldable devices, the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Flip8, are also expected to introduce One UI 9. Those devices are rumored to launch in July, while the Galaxy S26 FE is likely to follow later in the year, potentially during the fall season.
Previous launch patterns support this expectation, as the Galaxy S25 FE was also introduced around September.
Exynos 2500 could deliver improved performance
One of the most notable hardware upgrades appears to be the processor. Reports suggest that the Galaxy S26 FE will feature Samsung's own Exynos 2500 chipset.
Benchmark information previously revealed that the chip may offer significant improvements over the Exynos 2400 used in earlier models. This could translate into better multitasking, gaming performance, and overall system efficiency.
The device is also expected to retain 8GB of RAM.
Other specifications remain unknown
Details regarding the display, camera setup, and battery capacity have not yet surfaced. However, the beginning of One UI 9 testing suggests that development is progressing steadily.
More leaks and information about the Galaxy S26 FE are expected to emerge in the coming weeks.
