BYD Refreshes the Seagull: Smarter Features and a More Modern Design
BYD has officially unveiled a refreshed version of its compact electric car Seagull, which is sold in Europe under the name “Dolphin Surf.”
Although the facelift does not introduce major mechanical upgrades, the updated model receives several visual improvements and new technology features aimed at enhancing the driving experience.
One of the most notable additions is the optional LiDAR system, signaling BYD’s growing focus on advanced driver assistance technologies.
Sharper Exterior Styling
The refreshed Seagull features redesigned front and rear bumpers along with new body color options.
Its 16-inch wheels have been reshaped for improved aerodynamics, while cameras added to the front fenders support enhanced safety and assistance systems. The rear spoiler has also been extended slightly, and an illuminated BYD logo now sits between the taillights.
These subtle revisions give the vehicle a more futuristic and premium appearance.
A Brighter and More Modern Cabin
Inside the cabin, BYD now offers lighter interior color combinations for a more spacious feel.
Both the digital instrument cluster and central touchscreen have been enlarged, while the steering wheel buttons have been redesigned for improved usability. Orange trim accents add a youthful and energetic touch to the interior design.
A driver monitoring camera integrated into the A-pillar also highlights the brand’s continued focus on safety technologies.
No Changes to Powertrain
Under the hood, the Seagull keeps its existing 75 hp and 100 hp electric motor options.
Battery choices also remain unchanged, with 30 kWh and 39 kWh packs continuing to power the vehicle.
While the technical specifications stay familiar, the addition of LiDAR could pave the way for more advanced autonomous driving features in future versions of the car.
