- Only lowercase letters, numbers, dots (.), and underscores (_) are allowed
- Length must be between 3 and 35 characters
- Cannot start with “.www”
- Cannot end with domain-like extensions such as “.com” or “.net”

Integration with Meta Platforms
Another key aspect is compatibility within the Meta ecosystem. If your desired username is already used on Instagram or Facebook, you may need to verify ownership through Meta’s Account Center before using it on WhatsApp.
If the username belongs to someone else, it won’t be available for use.
