Cristiano Ronaldo Acquires 25% Stake in Almería
Global football icon Cristiano Ronaldo has taken a significant step beyond the pitch by investing in Spanish club UD Almería. The Portuguese star, currently playing for Al Nassr, has purchased a 25% stake in the club through his company, CR7 Sports Investments.
According to Brunswick Group, the deal reflects Ronaldo’s long-term ambition to contribute to football not only as a player but also as a stakeholder. He described Almería as a club with strong foundations and clear growth potential.
Club president Mohamed Al-Khereiji welcomed the investment, emphasizing Ronaldo’s deep understanding of Spanish football and his belief in the club’s sporting and academy development projects.
At 41, Ronaldo’s career has spanned elite clubs including Sporting CP, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus before moving to Saudi Arabia in 2023.
Almería, which last competed in LaLiga during the 2023–2024 season, is currently third in Spain’s second division after 27 rounds, aiming for promotion.
Ronaldo’s involvement is expected to boost the club’s global visibility and accelerate its long-term ambitions.
