F1: Hamilton Sets Unwanted Record at Ferrari; Three Consecutive Q1 Eliminations
Lewis Hamilton’s challenging debut season with Ferrari took another difficult turn during the final race weekend of 2025 in Abu Dhabi. The seven-time world champion, still struggling to adapt to the characteristics of the Ferrari car, experienced one of his toughest weekends in red.
Crash in Practice, Frustration in Qualifying
During Saturday’s third practice session, Hamilton lost control of his car and crashed into the barriers, cutting the session short. The incident foreshadowed a troubled day for the British driver.
Later in qualifying, things didn’t improve. Hamilton finished only 16th, resulting in another Q1 elimination. With this result, he became the first Ferrari driver in history to be knocked out in Q1 for three consecutive race weekends.
“I Feel an Unbearable Rage”
Speaking to Sky Sports F1 and Sky Italia after the session, Hamilton didn’t hide his frustration:
We made a lot of changes to the car and it actually felt great out there. That’s why I can’t even find the words for how I feel right now — I’m filled with unbearable rage. There’s not much more to say about the result.
Hamilton’s remarks highlight the difficulties of his first year with Ferrari and point to potential structural or setup concerns within the team. As the season finale approaches, all eyes will be on how the champion driver concludes his turbulent season.
