Sabalenka triumphs again: Back-to-back US Open champion

The US Open, one of the most prestigious tournaments in the tennis calendar, witnessed another historic moment. Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus successfully defended her title by defeating Amanda Anisimova in straight sets, becoming the US Open champion for the second year in a row.

In the women’s singles final held in New York, the top seed and defending champion Sabalenka faced the 8th seed Anisimova. Displaying her dominance, Sabalenka wrapped up the match in 1 hour and 34 minutes, winning 6-3, 7-6 to claim the trophy once again.

For Anisimova, it was her second Grand Slam final appearance of the year. Earlier at Wimbledon, the young American faced Poland’s Iga Swiatek but suffered a heavy defeat with a double bagel scoreline. Despite that, her US Open performance proved her growth and determination on the big stage.

Sabalenka’s victory is more than just a title defense — it highlights her consistency, mental strength, and commanding style of play. By winning back-to-back championships, she has solidified her place among the greats of modern women’s tennis.
