One of the most iconic models in the automotive world, the Ford Focus, will end production this November. However, this is not the end of its journey. According to reports from the British press, the beloved model will make a comeback in 2027, this time as a compact and budget-friendly electric SUV.
The new Focus is expected to be produced at Ford’s plant in Valencia, Spain, where the Ford Kuga is also assembled. Built on the Ford C2 platform shared with the Kuga, the upcoming Focus will not replace it but rather fill the gap between the Ford Puma and the Kuga, positioning itself as a more compact and affordable alternative.
Electrification and Price Advantage
One of the standout aspects of the new Focus will be its electrification strategy. The model will be offered in both hybrid and fully electric variants. What makes it particularly appealing is the expected price point, which will be significantly lower than Ford’s new electric SUVs, the Explorer and the Capri. Industry sources suggest that the vehicle will debut with a price tag of under €40,000.
A Legacy with a New Identity
Since its debut in 1998, the Ford Focus has sold more than 16 million units across four generations. This remarkable history is likely to give the SUV version strong recognition in the market. By adapting to shifting automotive trends while retaining its well-known name, the new Focus aims to prove whether it can carry its legendary success into the electric crossover era.
