HBO Max’s medical drama The Pitt dominated the 2025 Television Critics Association (TCA) Awards, winning in all four categories for which it was nominated, including the coveted “Program of the Year.”
Victory in Every Category
The series claimed awards for “Outstanding Drama,” “Outstanding New Program,” and “Individual Achievement in Drama,” which went to lead actor Noah Wyle. With these victories, The Pitt solidified its status as one of the year’s most acclaimed TV dramas.
“An Indescribable Joy”
Due to the cancellation of TCA’s traditional summer press tour, there was no live ceremony this year. Instead, winners’ speeches were shared on YouTube. In his recorded video, Wyle expressed:
“Being nominated among such incredible names was already a huge honor, but winning is an indescribable joy. Over the years, you’ve written wonderful things about me and my work — especially about this series — and I’m deeply grateful.”
Wyle’s victory was also symbolic, breaking a nine-year streak of female winners in this gender-neutral category. The last male recipient was Jon Hamm in 2015 for the final season of Mad Men.
A First Since Watchmen
The Pitt became the first production since Watchmen in 2020 to win in every category it was nominated for at the TCA Awards.
Gratitude to Healthcare Workers
Creator R. Scott Gemmill thanked the cast, crew, and above all, healthcare professionals:
“A huge thank you to TCA for recognizing our work. It’s an honor to be listed alongside such amazing shows. To our cast and crew who give their all every day, thank you. And most importantly, to the healthcare workers who stand by us day and night — we are forever grateful for everything you do.”
