Iga Swiatek makes history with 6-0, 6-0 Wimbledon final victory

Iga Swiatek carved her name into tennis history by winning her first Wimbledon title in spectacular fashion. The 24-year-old Polish star crushed Amanda Anisimova 6-0, 6-0 in a completely one-sided final, claiming her sixth Grand Slam title and her most dominant performance to date.

This double bagel victory marks the first Grand Slam final to finish with such a scoreline since Steffi Graf defeated Natasha Zvereva 6-0, 6-0 at Roland Garros in 1988. Swiatek is now the first player in the Open Era to win a Grand Slam final without conceding a single game.

Famous for her clay-court dominance, especially at Roland Garros where she has won four times, Swiatek replicated that brilliance on the grass courts of Wimbledon. Meanwhile, Anisimova, in her maiden Slam final, faltered under the spotlight, committing numerous unforced errors and struggling to win even a single game point through the first 10 games.

As ESPN commentator Chris Evert noted: “Even her strengths aren't working right now. This is difficult to watch.” Down 6-0, 5-0, Anisimova couldn’t hold back tears during the changeover. Despite her struggles, much of the credit belongs to Swiatek’s relentless accuracy and composure.
