F1: Hamilton sounds the alarm at Ferrari; major changes needed for a comeback

Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton has raised serious concerns about Ferrari’s current state, emphasizing that profound systemic changes are essential for the team to return to title contention. After a slow start to the 2025 season, Ferrari has struggled to meet expectations, both on and off the track.

Following Mercedes’ first victory of the season in Canada, Ferrari became the only one among the top four teams yet to secure a win this year. Out of the first 10 races, the Italian outfit has managed just three podiums. Their only triumph came during the sprint race in China, courtesy of Hamilton himself—yet it didn’t count as a full Grand Prix victory.

The SF-25’s performance has been largely disappointing, with recurring issues particularly centered around the rear suspension. These technical problems have hampered the car’s competitiveness and raised questions about the team’s development direction. In an interview with Sky Italia, Hamilton hinted that deeper, internal structural issues might be contributing to the team’s struggles.

“I’ve been asking for upgrades. I don’t know why they haven’t arrived yet. I hope we’ll see something soon,” said Hamilton. “From where I stand, many things in the system need to change. I wish I could explain what’s happening—there’s a lot going on behind the scenes.”

He added, “I can’t say much, but there’s a story behind everything that’s happened this year. My goal is to bring a positive influence and help lay the foundation for long-term success.”

Hamilton’s comments underscore a growing realization within the paddock: for Ferrari to reclaim its former glory, change must come not just in the garage, but in the boardroom as well.
