2025 24 Hours of Le Mans: Ferrari’s triple triumph and Kubica’s comeback

The 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans delivered high drama, strategic brilliance, and emotional comebacks. Ferrari emerged victorious once again, claiming its third consecutive Le Mans win, this time with the #83 AF Corse satellite car. Piloted by Phil Hanson, Yifei Ye, and Robert Kubica, the trio delivered an exceptional performance that etched a new chapter into Ferrari’s rich endurance racing legacy.

Throughout the race, there was an intense battle for supremacy between Ferrari, Porsche, and Cadillac. While Ferrari maintained the lead for most of the event, the #6 Porsche Penske entry – driven by Estre, Campbell, and Vanthoor – mounted a formidable challenge, finishing just 14 seconds behind and preventing a complete Ferrari podium sweep.

The battle for third was decided between the #51 and #50 Ferraris, with Calado, Giovinazzi, and Pier Guidi managing to edge out the Fuoco-Molina-Nielsen trio. Despite facing strategy errors and time penalties, Ferrari rebounded strongly after safety car periods, especially during the night hours. Pier Guidi’s costly spin paved the way for Kubica to take command.

Kubica’s victory was especially poignant. After a life-threatening crash in 2011, his journey back to the top of motorsport culminated in one of his most significant career achievements.

In LMP2, the #43 Inter Europol Competition car (Dillmann, Smiechowski, Yelloly) dominated, followed by AO by TF (#199). TDS Panis Racing (#48) slipped back in the final stages. LMGT3 honors went to the #92 Manthey Porsche, which capitalized on the early retirement of the #46 BMW WRT. Ferrari, Corvette, Aston Martin, and Lexus rounded out the top five.

Ferrari’s overall victory with a satellite team marks a historic milestone, reaffirming its endurance racing prowess.
