International bestselling author Dan Brown is ready to expand his iconic Robert Langdon series with a brand-new novel titled The Secret of Secrets. Known for his globally acclaimed works such as The Da Vinci Code, Inferno, and Angels & Demons, Brown’s latest novel is set to hit the shelves this September. Even before its official release, the book has already garnered significant attention — Netflix has acquired the rights and will adapt it into a television series.
This marks one of Netflix’s most ambitious literary adaptation deals to date. Interestingly, unlike Brown’s previous books which were turned into feature films, The Secret of Secrets will be adapted into a series format — a shift that suggests a more intricate, layered narrative.
The series will be helmed by experienced showrunner Carlton Cuse, known for his work on Lost, Bates Motel, and Jack Ryan. Brown himself will be directly involved in the scripting process, raising expectations for a faithful and engaging adaptation.
While Tom Hanks famously portrayed Robert Langdon in the film adaptations, his involvement in the series remains uncertain. Given Hanks’ selective nature and limited engagement in long-running TV series, his participation seems unlikely.
In this new adventure, the renowned symbologist races against time and ancient forces to locate a missing scientist and a manuscript containing groundbreaking discoveries about human consciousness. Combining futuristic science with mystical elements, The Secret of Secrets promises a gripping, puzzle-filled narrative that continues the legacy of the Langdon series.
