Remote workers sleep 24 minutes longer every day

A recent study in the UK reveals that remote workers enjoy 24 extra minutes of sleep daily compared to those commuting to the office. According to the UK Office for National Statistics (ONS), people working from home utilize the time they would have spent commuting to rest and rejuvenate.

Extra Time for Activities and Personal Well-being

Remote workers aren’t just gaining more sleep; the study shows they also spend 15 more minutes each day on activities like exercise or personal development. By avoiding the commute, they save an average of one hour daily, creating more opportunities for activities outside work.

Commuters Face More Time and Stress on the Road

In contrast, those who work on-site lose around 56 minutes each day on commuting, which can add stress and reduce personal time. This extended commute can lead to added exhaustion compared to those working from home.

Slight Reduction in Work Hours for Remote Workers

Another finding highlights that remote workers tend to work 10 minutes less than their office-based counterparts each day, which reflects the benefits of more flexible work arrangements.
