Leclerc Claims Victory at the 2026 British Grand Prix as Russell and Hamilton Complete the Podium
Charles Leclerc secured an impressive victory at the 2026 Formula 1 British Grand Prix after a dominant performance at Silverstone. The Ferrari driver controlled the race from the opening laps and successfully converted his strong pace into another important win. George Russell finished second for Mercedes, while Lewis Hamilton delighted the home crowd by claiming third place.
Ferrari enjoyed a perfect start as Leclerc and Hamilton quickly overtook Kimi Antonelli in the opening corners. Leclerc moved into the lead while Hamilton settled comfortably behind his teammate.
The opening lap also featured contact between Oliver Bearman and Alex Albon, forcing Albon into an early pit stop. Oscar Piastri also suffered front-wing damage and had to pit during the early stages of the race.

The middle phase of the race featured several strategic pit stops and intense battles throughout the field. Max Verstappen climbed into podium contention after overtaking Russell, while Ferrari managed Leclerc's race perfectly to maintain the lead.
One of the highlights of the afternoon was the thrilling duel between Lewis Hamilton and George Russell. The two British drivers exchanged positions multiple times, providing fans with one of the race's most entertaining battles.
Antonelli's podium hopes faded after technical issues forced him into several additional pit stops, dropping him down the order.
Late in the race, Max Verstappen suffered a dramatic spin into the gravel while fighting for third place, bringing out the Safety Car. During the neutralization period, George Russell stayed out and successfully emerged ahead of Hamilton after the final round of pit stops.
The race ultimately finished behind the Safety Car, allowing Charles Leclerc to claim a commanding victory. George Russell secured second place, while Lewis Hamilton completed the podium in front of his home fans.
