Skoda Epiq Unveiled: The Brand’s Most Affordable EV Arrives with Up to 440 km Range
As competition in the electric vehicle market continues to intensify, Skoda is expanding its EV lineup with a brand-new model. The company has officially unveiled the Epiq, which is expected to become its most affordable electric vehicle to date. Positioned between a compact SUV and a crossover hatchback, the model combines accessibility, practicality, and modern technology.
The new Skoda Epiq shares its platform with the Volkswagen ID. Polo and Cupra Raval, while also becoming one of the first production vehicles to fully showcase Skoda's new "Modern Solid" design philosophy.
Modern Styling with a Strong Character
Skoda has blended familiar design elements with more futuristic details in the Epiq. T-shaped lighting signatures at both the front and rear create a more distinctive and sharper appearance.
The vehicle measures 4,171 mm in length, 1,798 mm in width, and 1,581 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,601 mm, allowing it to maximize the space benefits of an EV architecture.
Unlike many modern EVs adopting flush door handles, Skoda kept conventional handles while still achieving aerodynamic efficiency through active airflow systems and redesigned wheels. The drag coefficient has reportedly been reduced to 0.275.
Technology Meets Everyday Practicality
Inside the cabin, technology and ease of use appear to go hand in hand. The Epiq comes standard with a 5.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a larger 13-inch infotainment display.
Rather than relying entirely on touch controls, Skoda has maintained physical buttons for key functions, offering a more user-friendly driving experience.
Higher trims will include ambient lighting, premium materials, and additional interior customization options.
Cargo space is another highlight. Despite its compact dimensions, the Epiq offers 475 liters of luggage capacity, which is approximately 75 liters more than the gasoline-powered Kamiq. Folding the rear seats increases storage space to 1,344 liters.
Performance and Range Options
The Skoda Epiq will be the first front-wheel-drive production vehicle using the new MEB+ platform.
Three power options will be available:
- 114 hp / 267 Nm torque
- 133 hp / 267 Nm torque
- 208 hp / 290 Nm torque
The most powerful version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 160 km/h.
Two battery choices are also planned. The entry-level 37 kWh LFP battery offers approximately 310 km of range, while the larger 51.7 kWh NMC battery extends the range up to 440 km.
Charging performance also looks competitive, with the larger battery capable of charging from 10% to 80% in around 24 minutes.
Starting at approximately €25,900, the Epiq aims to make electric mobility more accessible to a broader audience.
