Ferrari Unveils Luce: Its First-Ever Fully Electric Supercar
Ferrari has officially introduced Luce, the brand’s first fully electric production vehicle, marking a historic milestone in the company's evolution. The highly anticipated model combines cutting-edge technology, breathtaking performance, and a bold design philosophy that signals Ferrari’s entry into the electric era.
One of the most notable aspects of the project is the involvement of renowned designer Jonathan Ive and his design firm LoveFrom. Known for shaping many of Apple’s iconic products, Ive has helped create a vehicle that feels distinctly futuristic while maintaining Ferrari’s premium identity. The Luce will launch in Italy with a starting price of approximately €550,000.
A Radical New Design Language
Unlike Ferrari’s traditional mid-engine supercars, the Luce adopts a cleaner and more aerodynamic appearance. Measuring 5,026 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,544 mm in height, the vehicle features a streamlined profile optimized for efficiency and performance.
The front fascia incorporates large air channels with integrated headlights, while carefully engineered airflow management improves aerodynamic performance. Massive 23-inch front wheels and 24-inch rear wheels contribute to the car’s commanding stance.
At the rear, four circular LED taillights pay tribute to classic Ferrari models while framing a large aerodynamic outlet that enhances the vehicle’s sporty character.
High-Tech Interior Meets Italian Luxury
Inside, the Luce combines minimalist elegance with advanced technology. The three-spoke steering wheel, crafted from recycled aluminum, houses numerous physical controls, while the digital instrument cluster and metal paddle shifters move together with the steering column.
A large infotainment display dominates the dashboard, complemented by a traditional analog clock that blends classic automotive charm with modern sophistication.
The rear-hinged electric doors provide easy access to a spacious rear seating area capable of accommodating three passengers. Rear occupants also benefit from dedicated displays and individual controls.
Premium Features Throughout
Ferrari has equipped the Luce with an impressive range of luxury amenities, including:
- Heated, ventilated, and massage-enabled seats
- A 3,000-watt audio system with 21 speakers
- Advanced digital interfaces
- Premium aluminum pedals
- A physical launch-control switch mounted in the roof console
The vehicle also offers a generous 597-liter cargo capacity, an unusually practical figure for a high-performance Ferrari.
Over 1,000 Horsepower of Electric Performance
The Luce is powered by four electric motors delivering:
- 1,050 horsepower
- 990 Nm of torque
The all-wheel-drive system enables astonishing acceleration figures:
- 0–100 km/h in 2.5 seconds
- 0–200 km/h in 6.8 seconds
- Top speed of 310 km/h
These numbers ensure that Ferrari’s performance heritage remains intact despite the transition to electric power.
Battery and Range
Energy is supplied by a large 122 kWh battery pack, providing an estimated driving range of approximately 530 kilometers on a full charge.
The vehicle supports 350 kW ultra-fast charging, significantly reducing charging times and making long-distance travel more practical.
Stopping power comes from carbon-ceramic brakes measuring 390 mm at the front and 372 mm at the rear.
A New Chapter for Ferrari
The Luce represents far more than just Ferrari’s first electric vehicle. It symbolizes the company’s commitment to innovation while preserving the performance, exclusivity, and engineering excellence that have defined the brand for decades.
As the automotive industry continues its shift toward electrification, the Luce stands as Ferrari’s bold statement that the future of performance can be electric without sacrificing excitement, speed, or prestige.
