Toyota Yaris Cross 2026: A Fresh Face, A New Adventure
Toyota has unveiled the refreshed 2026 version of its successful B-SUV contender, the Yaris Cross. With over 200,000 units sold across Europe last year, the model remains a key pillar in Toyota’s lineup. The latest update focuses on refined design, sustainability, and improved efficiency.
A more refined exterior design
The most noticeable changes appear at the front. The traditional grille has been replaced by a more integrated bumper design, complemented by a body-colored 3D honeycomb pattern that enhances the vehicle’s premium appeal. The LED headlights have also been updated to include daytime running lights.
From the side, new alloy wheel designs—up to 18 inches—add a sportier touch. A newly introduced bronze color option, paired exclusively with a black roof and pillars, further elevates the car’s visual identity.
Sustainability takes center stage inside
Inside the cabin, sustainability is the key theme. Toyota introduces a plant-based upholstery material called Sakura Touch, which significantly reduces carbon emissions compared to traditional leather while maintaining a premium feel.
Technological updates are modest but effective. The 12-inch digital instrument cluster and 10-inch infotainment screen remain, while the continued use of physical buttons ensures ease of use. Boot capacity ranges between 320 and 390 liters, depending on the configuration.
Hybrid power becomes standard
One of the most significant changes lies under the hood. The previous 115hp 1.5-liter engine has been discontinued, replaced by a 130hp full hybrid system as standard. This shift improves both performance and fuel efficiency.
An all-wheel-drive option remains available, although it comes with a slight reduction in cargo space—around 70 liters.
Strong focus on safety
The Yaris Cross continues to offer a comprehensive suite of safety features, including Level 2 driver assistance systems, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist—all as standard.
The new Toyota Yaris Cross will go on sale in Europe starting September, aiming to strengthen its already solid position in the competitive B-SUV segment.
