The Updated Cupra Born: A More Refined and Powerful Electric Hatchback

The fully electric Cupra Born, one of the key models from Spanish performance brand Cupra, has received a comprehensive facelift. The refreshed model introduces noticeable changes not only in exterior styling but also in interior quality and powertrain options.

With these updates, the Born aims to strengthen its position in the competitive electric hatchback segment by offering improved technology, a more dynamic design, and enhanced performance.

Sharper and More Aggressive Exterior Design

One of the most noticeable updates appears at the front of the vehicle. The refreshed design features a sharper and more aggressive look. The previously visible Cupra lettering on the front has been removed, while the redesigned bumper now features separated air intakes that give the car a more athletic appearance.

The headlights have also been redesigned with distinctive triangular lighting elements, reinforcing the model’s futuristic character.

New wheel designs are available in 19-inch and 20-inch sizes, and the car now uses 235 mm wide tires, which enhance both grip and the overall sporty stance.

Updated Rear Lighting Signature

The rear of the Born has also been redesigned. The LED taillights now feature triangular internal graphics, creating a more distinctive lighting signature.

The illuminated brand logo is integrated into the rear light bar, while the redesigned rear bumper adds a stronger visual presence with upright reflectors and a diffuser that is split into two sections.

A More Premium and Technological Interior

Inside the cabin, several improvements aim to enhance both comfort and usability.

One of the most welcome updates is the return of physical buttons on the steering wheel, replacing the previous touch-sensitive controls. This change improves usability while driving.

The digital instrument cluster has grown in size, and the central infotainment screen now runs on a new Android-based software architecture, which promises a smoother and faster user experience.

Copper-colored trim elements — a signature design detail for the Cupra brand — appear throughout the cabin, including the air vents and door panels, adding a more premium and distinctive feel.

Rear passengers also benefit from improved comfort thanks to newly added rear air vents and redesigned door panels with updated handles.

Improved Powertrain and Battery Options

The updated Born also introduces new driving features and improved electric powertrains.

For the first time, the model offers a one-pedal driving mode, allowing drivers to slow the vehicle significantly when lifting off the accelerator while also recovering energy through regenerative braking.

The entry-level version includes:

  • 190 horsepower electric motor
  • 58 kWh battery capacity
  • Around 450 km of driving range

Higher-end versions offer:

  • 79 kWh battery
  • 231 hp or 326 hp power outputs
  • Up to 600 km of range

These versions also support 185 kW fast charging, enabling significantly faster charging times.

Strengthening Cupra’s Electric Future

With sharper styling, improved interior quality, and upgraded powertrain options, the refreshed Cupra Born represents an important step in the brand’s electric strategy.

The model continues to combine sporty design with advanced technology, aiming to remain a strong contender in the rapidly growing electric hatchback market.
