Apple Unveils MacBook Neo: A18 Pro-Powered Entry-Level Mac
Apple has officially introduced its long-anticipated affordable laptop, the MacBook Neo. The new model stands out as the first Mac powered by the A18 Pro chip, previously used in the iPhone 16 Pro lineup. This move brings Apple’s mobile silicon strategy directly into its Mac ecosystem.
Powered by A18 Pro
The A18 Pro chip, known for its performance efficiency in smartphones, now drives a full-fledged laptop experience. By integrating a mobile processor, Apple aims to deliver strong battery life and balanced performance while keeping costs lower than traditional MacBook models.
13-Inch Liquid Retina Display
MacBook Neo features a 13-inch Liquid Retina IPS display with a resolution of 2408 x 1506 and 500 nits of brightness. Instead of a notched design, the laptop adopts flat, iPad-style bezels.
It is available in Silver, Pink, Yellow, and Indigo finishes. The chosen color theme extends to the lighter-toned Magic Keyboard and matching wallpapers. Weighing just 1.23 kg, the device emphasizes portability.
Everyday Performance and Features
The laptop offers up to 16 hours of battery life, a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, and a dual-speaker system with Spatial Audio support. A dual-microphone array with beamforming technology enhances voice clarity during calls.
Connectivity options include Bluetooth 6 and Wi-Fi 6E, along with one USB 3 (USB-C), one USB 2 (USB-C), and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
MacBook Neo starts at $599, making it Apple’s most affordable laptop to date.
