Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2026: What to Expect From the Galaxy S26 Launch
Samsung’s 2025 was packed with innovation, from new foldable devices and ultra-thin designs to the introduction of Google’s XR platform. As 2026 begins, attention is now turning to the company’s first major event of the year: Galaxy Unpacked. Although official invitations have not yet been sent out, industry insiders widely expect the event to take place toward the end of February, likely around February 25, when Samsung is anticipated to unveil the Galaxy S26 lineup.
Reliable leakster Evan Blass has hinted at the same date, making it highly likely that the event will indeed happen then. Once Samsung releases its official announcement, details such as timing and broadcast schedule should become clear. Until then, expectations around new devices continue to build.
Galaxy S26 Series: Familiar Design, Enhanced Performance
Samsung is expected to maintain a conservative design approach with the Galaxy S26 lineup. Leaked images suggest the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra will largely retain the design language of the S25 series, featuring flat displays, flat frames, rounded corners and vertically aligned rear camera modules.
Most of the upgrades will likely come in the form of internal hardware improvements. The Galaxy S26 family is expected to be powered primarily by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, though Samsung may use its Exynos 2600 chip in select regions. Either way, performance gains and improved on-device AI capabilities are anticipated across the lineup.
The standard Galaxy S26 could feature a slightly larger 6.3-inch FHD+ display compared to the 6.2-inch panel on its predecessor. It is also rumored to include 12GB of RAM, storage options of 256GB or 512GB and a 4,300mAh battery. Camera hardware is expected to remain similar to the previous generation, with a 50MP main sensor, ultrawide and telephoto lenses, and a 12MP front camera.
The Galaxy S26+ may see even fewer changes, likely retaining its 6.7-inch display, 4,900mAh battery and overall camera setup, with the new processor being the most notable upgrade.
Galaxy S26 Ultra: Material and Feature Changes
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to introduce more noticeable updates. Leaks suggest slightly more pronounced camera modules with a refreshed metallic finish. Samsung may also switch back to an aluminum frame after using titanium in previous Ultra models.
One of the most intriguing rumors involves Qi2 wireless charging. To fully support the standard, Samsung may remove the S Pen digitizer layer and implement a new stylus input method. This could allow the device to better integrate with magnetic accessories while still supporting stylus functionality.
Galaxy Buds 4, Edge Model and AI Innovations
Samsung is also expected to introduce Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro with a more compact case and refined design. Features like gesture-based call control and Ultra Wideband support for improved device tracking are rumored additions.
The Galaxy S26 Edge is likely to remain an alternative model rather than replacing the Plus variant. Meanwhile, Samsung’s tri-fold device may get only brief attention, as it has already been showcased earlier.
On the software side, Samsung is expected to emphasize AI advancements. Reports suggest a potential partnership with Perplexity for AI-powered search integration across OneUI and Samsung’s browser. A revamped Bixby assistant may also debut, potentially serving as an alternative to Google Gemini.
All signs point to Galaxy Unpacked 2026 being a comprehensive showcase not only for new hardware but also for Samsung’s expanding AI ecosystem and future-ready technology strategy.
