'Apple Experience' on March 4: A Colorful MacBook and AI Wearables on the Horizon?
The tech world is turning its attention to Apple’s upcoming “Apple Experience” event on March 4. While it is not expected to match the scale of a traditional Apple Event, invitation visuals and industry reports suggest that notable hardware announcements may be on the way — particularly a more affordable and colorful MacBook model.
A Budget-Friendly, Colorful MacBook?
The invitation features an Apple logo in bright yellow, green, and blue tones, hinting at a product aimed at a younger and broader audience. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman previously reported that Apple has been testing an iPhone-chip-powered MacBook in multiple colors, including pink.
Such a move could signal Apple’s intention to expand its laptop lineup with a more accessible price point, appealing especially to students and everyday users.
iPhone 17e and Other Possibilities
Another strong candidate for announcement is the iPhone 17e, expected to be an upgraded successor to the iPhone 16e. Key rumored features include:
- MagSafe support
- A19 chip
- C1X modem for faster 5G
- N1 chip enabling Wi-Fi 7
Other possibilities include an M4-powered iPad Air, an A18-based iPad 12, and an M5-equipped MacBook Air. On the high-end side, speculation continues around M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pro models, an updated Mac Studio, and a new Studio Display. However, the event’s vibrant branding suggests a stronger focus on mainstream, colorful, and accessible products.
AI-Powered Wearables in Development
According to Bloomberg, Apple is actively developing three AI-powered wearable devices that will rely on an iPhone connection:
- Smart glasses
- A wearable AI pendant
- Advanced AI-enabled AirPods
The smart glasses are expected to compete with devices introduced by Meta at its Meta Connect event. They could support photo and video capture, phone calls, Siri access, contextual AI assistance, and music playback — all while remaining tethered to an iPhone.
The next-generation AirPods may include built-in cameras capable of analyzing surroundings and delivering contextual information. Meanwhile, Apple’s AI pendant — conceptually similar to the Humane Ai Pin — is rumored to feature an always-on camera and microphone, though most processing would occur on the connected iPhone.
Among the three, the AI pendant is considered the least likely to reach consumers, as overlapping functionalities could make launching all devices simultaneously strategically challenging.
Even if Apple Experience is not a blockbuster keynote, it could offer crucial insight into Apple’s evolving strategy — one that blends affordability, vibrant design, and deeper artificial intelligence integration into everyday life.
