Kia Expands Its Electric Performance Lineup with EV3, EV4, and EV5 GT Models
Kia has taken a bold step toward electrified performance by unveiling the GT versions of the EV3, EV4, and EV5. Previously offered only with front-wheel drive and single-motor configurations, these models now gain dual-motor all-wheel-drive systems, significantly enhancing their sporty appeal. While they may not reach the extreme output of the EV6 GT, the new GT variants promise a far more engaging driving experience through increased power and advanced chassis technologies.
According to Kia, the GT lineup goes beyond raw performance figures. A dedicated GT driving mode, electronically adjustable suspension, and digitally enhanced driving systems aim to blend emotional driving dynamics with modern technology.
Sportier Design and Immersive Interior
Visually, the GT models stand out with aggressive styling elements, exclusive GT badges, and aerodynamic accents. Inside the cabin, drivers are greeted by sport bucket seats, a three-spoke GT steering wheel, and artificial engine sounds designed to compensate for the inherent quietness of electric vehicles. Virtual gear shifts further enhance the sensation of driving a traditional performance car.
Powertrain and Acceleration
Both the EV3 GT and EV4 GT deliver a combined output of 282 horsepower, generated by a 194-horsepower front motor and a 94-horsepower rear motor. The EV5 GT, equipped with a more powerful 208-horsepower front motor, reaches a total of 302 horsepower.
In terms of acceleration, the EV4 GT leads the range, sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds. The EV3 GT follows closely at 5.7 seconds, while the larger and heavier EV5 GT completes the same run in 6.2 seconds.
Range Expectations and Launch Timeline
Official WLTP range figures for the GT variants have not yet been announced. All three models use the same 81.4 kWh battery, which in standard form provides up to 605 km for the EV3, 633 km for the EV4, and 555 km for the EV5. Due to the added motor, increased weight, and higher energy consumption, reduced range figures are expected for the GT versions.
Kia has not confirmed an exact on-sale date, but production is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2026, with deliveries expected shortly thereafter. As for the brand’s smallest electric model, the EV2, Kia has yet to confirm whether a dual-motor GT variant is in the pipeline.
