Renault Twingo E-Tech Goes on Sale

Renault has brought back one of its most iconic city cars, the Twingo, this time in a fully electric form. The newly introduced Renault Twingo E-Tech, unveiled last month, officially became available for order in France on December 16. Along with opening orders, the brand also revealed the model’s pricing through its official website, reinforcing its ambition to make electric mobility more accessible.

The new Twingo stays true to its roots with a design that clearly references the original 1992 model. Measuring approximately 3.8 meters in length, the compact hatchback features rounded lines and a friendly silhouette that evoke nostalgia, while modern design elements ensure it feels contemporary rather than dated.

Inside, technology takes center stage. All 2026 Twingo E-Tech models come standard with a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Sliding rear seats add versatility to the cabin, allowing drivers to adapt the interior layout to different needs. This flexibility also extends to the trunk, which can offer up to 360 liters of cargo space.

Powering the Twingo E-Tech is an electric motor producing 82 horsepower, paired with a 27.5 kWh battery. According to Renault, the car can travel up to 263 kilometers on a single charge, a range well-suited for urban driving and daily commutes. However, one of the model’s strongest selling points is its competitive pricing.

In France, the entry-level Twingo Evolution starts at €19,490. With government incentives applied, the price drops to €14,720. Even at this base level, the car includes features such as manual air conditioning, parking sensors, cruise control, and automatic LED headlights as standard.

The higher-spec Techno version is priced at €21,090, or €16,320 after incentives. This trim adds premium features like keyless entry, automatic climate control, a navigation system, a rear-view camera, and adaptive cruise control designed for heavy traffic conditions.

For an additional €500, Renault also offers the Advanced Charge package. This option includes an 11 kW bi-directional AC charger, a 50 kW DC fast-charging capability, and both V2L (vehicle-to-load) and V2G (vehicle-to-grid) functions. With this comprehensive feature set and aggressive pricing, the Renault Twingo E-Tech positions itself as the brand’s most affordable electric car as of 2026.
