Renault Twingo E-Tech officially unveiled

Renault has finally introduced the Twingo E-Tech, the electric city car that merges nostalgia with innovation. First showcased as a concept two years ago, the Twingo E-Tech draws inspiration from the original 1992 Twingo while embodying the spirit of the electric age.

Renault’s mission is clear — to make electric mobility accessible to everyone. By pricing the Twingo E-Tech under €20,000, the company aims to challenge the dominance of affordable Chinese EVs and provide a stylish yet practical option for city dwellers.

To keep costs down, Renault uses a 27.5 kWh LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery, which reduces production costs by about 20%. The WLTP-certified range of 263 km makes it ideal for daily commuting.

Charging times are equally impressive for a car in this segment: it can charge from 10% to 80% in 30 minutes using DC fast charging, while a full charge via AC takes approximately 2 hours and 35 minutes. The electric motor delivers 80 hp (60 kW) and 175 Nm of torque, reaching 0–100 km/h in 12.1 seconds with a top speed of 130 km/h.

The design retains the charm of the original Twingo, with rounded headlights and a compact silhouette that evokes familiarity. Inside, playful color accents and practical details give the cabin a cheerful yet minimalist atmosphere. Rear seats can slide up to 17 cm, enhancing either legroom or cargo space. The trunk offers 360 liters of capacity, expandable to 1000 liters with folded seats.

Produced in Renault’s Novo Mesto factory in Slovenia, the Twingo E-Tech is expected to hit the roads in early 2026. With its blend of affordability, retro charm, and sustainable innovation, Renault’s latest creation is ready to redefine the city car experience.
