Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton matched his best result as a Ferrari driver by finishing fourth at the United States Grand Prix, while teammate Charles Leclerc secured third place — his sixth podium of the 2025 season.
Despite the progress shown by Ferrari in Austin, commentator David Croft believes Hamilton’s patience is running out. Speaking on The F1 Show, Croft said:
“Last year in Austin, Ferrari locked out the front row. This time, they finished third and fourth — and it could easily have been fifth, because Hamilton was limping to the line.”
Ferrari may be pleased with a podium, but Croft argues it falls short of expectations:
“They’ll be happy in Maranello, but it’s not enough. Not compared to last year, not compared to what they aimed for this season — and definitely not for Lewis Hamilton.”
Croft also revealed that Hamilton’s frustration stems from feeling unheard within the team:
“He’s been working hard to help the team move forward, but he doesn’t feel listened to by the management. He wants to restore Ferrari’s glory days, but he’s losing patience.”
Croft concluded by suggesting the tension could escalate soon:
“This could become a much bigger story if things don’t change in the coming races.”
