F1: Hamilton became the driver who made the worst start in Ferrari history!

Lewis Hamilton’s start with Ferrari has been far from the fairytale fans hoped for. After finishing eighth at the 2025 Singapore Grand Prix, the seven-time world champion has now gone 18 races without a podium — equaling the longest podium drought in Ferrari history, a record previously held by Didier Pironi in the early 1980s.

The weekend had started positively for Ferrari, showing promising pace in practice and qualifying. However, the race unfolded in typical 2025 Ferrari fashion — with frustration and missed opportunities. While Charles Leclerc secured sixth place, Hamilton struggled with brake issues and was hit with a late-race time penalty, ending any hopes of a top-five finish.

This result marks Hamilton’s 18th consecutive race with Ferrari without standing on the podium, tying Pironi’s infamous record between the 1981 and 1982 Long Beach Grands Prix. Pironi eventually broke the streak at the 1982 San Marino Grand Prix — something Hamilton will now hope to replicate at the upcoming U.S. Grand Prix.

If the Briton fails once again, he will officially hold the longest podiumless start in Ferrari’s storied history. With McLaren, Red Bull, and Mercedes all outpacing Ferrari this season, the Scuderia’s form gives little reason for optimism. For the first time in his career, Lewis Hamilton faces the very real possibility of completing an entire season without a single podium finish.
