2026 Renault Clio – A new chapter begins

The Renault Clio, one of the most iconic models in the automotive world, has been on the roads since 1990, going through five different generations. With over 17 million units sold worldwide and crowned twice with the prestigious “Car of the Year” award, Clio has firmly established itself as a global success story. Produced for years in Turkey at Oyak Renault’s facilities, the model now enters its 6th generation.

The Clio’s popularity extends well beyond Europe, and with this new version, Renault aims to reach an even broader audience. Say hello to the new Clio from Bursa.

Exterior Design: Sportier but Controversial

The sixth-generation Clio introduces a radical redesign. A wide grille paired with slim LED headlights gives the front a sportier and more aggressive character, reminding some observers of models like the Kia Ceed.

At the rear, however, things get more debatable. A nearly vertical tailgate combined with split taillights creates a design language that evokes hints of Peugeot. This unconventional approach will likely spark strong opinions among enthusiasts.

Dimensionally, the Clio now measures 4,116 mm in length, 1,768 mm in width, 1,451 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,591 mm, making it slightly larger than before.

Interior: Inspired by Renault 5

Inside, the Clio embraces modern digitalization, strongly influenced by the Renault 5. A unified widescreen integrates both the digital instrument cluster and the infotainment system, while higher trims offer a driver-focused V-shaped layout.

The OpenR Link infotainment system brings Google Maps, Google Assistant, and Play Store integration, allowing drivers to download and use more than 100 apps directly in the car.

Powertrains: Balancing Power and Efficiency

Two engine options are available in the new Clio:

  • Full Hybrid E-Tech: 160 hp, with fuel savings of up to 40%. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 8.3 seconds, has a top speed of 170 km/h, and consumes just 3.9 liters/100 km.
  • 1.2 TCe: 115 hp, accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 10.1 seconds, and offers fuel consumption of 5.1 liters/100 km.

Both engines come paired with a 6-speed EDC automatic transmission.

Trims and Equipment

The new Clio will be offered in two trim levels: Evolution and Esprit Alpine.

  • The Evolution trim emphasizes practicality and economy,
  • while the Esprit Alpine highlights sportiness with 18-inch alloy wheels, blue accents, sporty upholstery, dual-tone stitching, and exclusive badging.

With these options, the Clio caters to both city drivers and long-distance travelers, ensuring flexibility and style for a wide range of customers.
