The 2025 Belgian Grand Prix brought drama, strategy, and a thrilling wet-weather challenge at Spa-Francorchamps. In a race that began under torrential rain and a lengthy delay, it was McLaren's rising star Oscar Piastri who emerged victorious.
His teammate Lando Norris secured second place, while Charles Leclerc of Ferrari completed the podium in third.
Heavy rainfall forced the race to begin behind the safety car. With limited visibility, race control halted the start, sending the drivers back to the pit lane. After nearly an hour and a half of delay, the race resumed under improved conditions, with all drivers on intermediate tyres.
From the early laps, Piastri showed his determination by overtaking Norris down the Kemmel straight to take the lead. Lewis Hamilton, starting from the pit lane, steadily climbed up the field, while Leclerc and Verstappen fought fiercely for third place.
As the track dried, drivers switched to slick tyres by Lap 12. Piastri timed his pit stop perfectly, extending his lead as Norris stayed out longer. Though Norris managed to reduce the gap significantly in the closing stages, Piastri maintained composure and pace to claim his sixth win of the season.
