Apple’s highly anticipated iOS 18.2 update is set to release earlier than planned, with a debut expected in the first week of December. According to tech analyst Mark Gurman, this update will bring Apple Intelligence, an array of advanced AI features, to select iPhone models.
What’s New in iOS 18.2?
The iOS 18.2 update introduces numerous AI-powered tools, particularly for iPhone 15 Pro and all iPhone 16 models. Key features include Genmoji, allowing users to create personalized emojis, and Image Playground, designed for generating cartoon-like visuals. Additionally, Notes gains Image Wand, a tool for transforming sketches into images. Siri also receives a boost through integrated ChatGPT, and the Mail app now includes categorized email organization for easier navigation.
Other Highlights Beyond Apple Intelligence
For users not focused on AI, iOS 18.2 brings a few valuable updates, such as the ability to customize default apps for basic functions like calls, messages, email, and browsing. The iMessage app enhances user safety with a new option for reporting inappropriate content directly to Apple. Other minor tweaks include the ability to adjust music volume directly from the lock screen.
