Xiaomi SU7 Ultra's groundbreaking success at Nürburgring

Xiaomi, a leading name in the technology world, has unexpectedly raised the bar in the automotive sector. The company, known primarily as a smartphone manufacturer, has made a remarkable entrance into the electric vehicle market. With its SU7 Ultra prototype, it delivered an astonishing performance at the Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit, stunning the industry’s established brands.

Introduced in July 2023 and scheduled for mass production in 2025, the SU7 Ultra achieved an impressive lap time of 6 minutes and 48.874 seconds at Nürburgring, one of the world’s most challenging circuits. This time significantly surpassed the previous record of 7 minutes and 7.55 seconds held by the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT. However, since the vehicle is still in its prototype phase, this achievement couldn’t be officially recorded.

Despite experiencing a throttle pedal malfunction during the test drive, the achieved result demonstrated the vehicle’s potential. With its electric motor producing 1,548 horsepower, the SU7 Ultra accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 1.97 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 350 km/h. These technical specifications clearly demonstrate a technology company’s serious ambitions in the automotive sector.

The SU7, which has been tested and praised by Ford CEO Jim Farley for several months, has successfully caught the attention of industry giants. These developments are considered strong indicators that Xiaomi’s vision of becoming “one of the world’s top five automobile manufacturers” might become a reality.
