Grand Theft Auto 6 may be delayed to 2026

Released in 2013, Grand Theft Auto V remains one of the most successful titles in the gaming world, maintaining its popularity despite the years that have passed. In December of last year, the release of the GTA 6 trailer provided a sigh of relief to players who had been waiting for over a decade for the next installment in the series. Although the game was officially announced to launch in 2025, recent rumors suggest a possible delay.

Could GTA 6’s Release Be Pushed to 2026?

Liam, a member of GTA Base known for his reliable information on the GTA universe, recently claimed that the release of GTA 6 has been delayed. According to Liam, who received insights from developers working in two different Rockstar Games studios, the launch date for Grand Theft Auto 6 is now pushed to the first half of 2026. He stated that Rockstar Games needs a bit more time, which has resulted in the postponement.

PC Gamers May Have to Wait Even Longer

Liam also shared new details regarding the PC version of Grand Theft Auto 6. Reportedly, Rockstar Games plans to release the PC version of GTA 6 about 12 to 18 months after the console versions hit the market. This means PC gamers might not see the new installment of the GTA series before 2027. So far, neither Rockstar Games nor Take-Two Interactive has made an official statement about these claims.

These claims have generated significant buzz in the gaming community, fueling both excitement and uncertainty among fans. It seems clear that Rockstar Games is taking more time in the development process to deliver an experience that meets expectations. However, a delay also means that both console and PC players will have to wait a bit longer for this eagerly anticipated adventure.
