Samsung may be planning a significant rebranding for its flagship series, set to launch in 2025. According to reports, the South Korean tech giant could rename the Galaxy S25 Ultra as the “Galaxy S25 Note.” However, this is not the only change expected.
The intriguing claim comes from well-known industry insider Yogesh Brar. Brar also suggested that alongside the S25 Ultra, the Galaxy S25 Plus may undergo a rebranding and be introduced as the “Galaxy S25 Pro.”
Ultra and Plus Names Could Be Phased Out
This potential name change seems more fitting back in 2022 when Samsung discontinued the Note series and introduced the S-Pen-equipped Galaxy S22 Ultra. Nevertheless, it appears that Samsung now aims to give its flagship models a distinct identity. Competitors like Xiaomi and VIVO often use the “Ultra” name for their premium devices, and Samsung may want to differentiate itself.
As for the rumored shift from Galaxy S25 Plus to Galaxy S25 Pro, Samsung may be looking to position the Pro model with more advanced features, similar to how the iPhone 15 Pro offers more features than the iPhone 15 Plus. This rebranding could be Samsung’s way of strengthening its presence in the high-end smartphone market.
