Contributing Factors: Drowning and More

Perry’s death was also attributed to accidental drowning as a significant factor. The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that they are collaborating with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the United States Postal Inspection Service in the ongoing investigation of the 54-year-old actor’s death.

Incident Details

On October 28, Matthew Perry was found unresponsive in the pool at his Los Angeles home, and he was declared dead at the scene shortly thereafter. Post-mortem examinations revealed a high level of ketamine in his blood.

Medical Findings and Perry’s Health Issues

Assistant Chief Coroner Raffi Djabourian noted that other contributing factors to Perry’s death included coronary artery disease and the effects of buprenorphine, a medication used to treat opioid use disorder.
