The experienced Turkish coach Fatih Terim has officially parted ways with Panathinaikos, one of the prominent teams in the Greek Super League.
Fatih Terim, who has been at the helm of Panathinaikos, saw his team fall to a 4-1 defeat against PAOK in the Greek Super League Play-offs, effectively ending their championship hopes. Following a series of disappointing results, Terim and the club’s management came to a mutual agreement to terminate his contract.
In a statement, Terim expressed his sentiments: “Since December last year, my team and I have been working tirelessly at Panathinaikos Football Club with the goal of winning the championship in the 2023-2024 season. Our aim was to bring the championship, which the precious Panathinaikos fans have been longing for 13 years, back to them. After a thorough evaluation with President Alafouzos last night, we concluded that our plans for the 2024-2025 season were not aligned. As a result of this assessment, it was decided to end our professional relationship.”
During his tenure at Panathinaikos, Terim managed the team in 26 matches, achieving 14 wins, 6 losses, and 6 draws, with an average of 1.85 points per game.
