iPhone Air 2 Could Arrive with a Bigger Battery and Powerful New Hardware

Rumors surrounding Apple's next-generation ultra-thin smartphone continue to gain momentum. According to the latest leaks, the upcoming iPhone Air 2 may feature a significantly larger battery, a dual-camera system, and Apple's next-generation A20 Pro chip built on an advanced 2nm manufacturing process.

Although Apple has yet to officially confirm these details, multiple industry sources suggest the company is preparing substantial upgrades beyond the device's slim design.

Larger battery expected

According to well-known Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station, the iPhone Air 2 will feature a battery exceeding 3,500 mAh.

That would represent a noticeable improvement over the current iPhone Air's 3,149 mAh battery. Combined with more efficient hardware, users could benefit from longer battery life throughout the day.

Dual-camera upgrade

Another major change could come in the camera department.

Leaks suggest the device will include a dual 48MP rear camera setup, offering improved photography capabilities and bringing the Air lineup closer to Apple's premium models.

Reports also claim Apple has reduced the size of the Face ID components, allowing for a narrower Dynamic Island and creating enough internal space to accommodate the additional camera.

A20 Pro chip built on 2nm technology

One of the most exciting rumored upgrades is Apple's new A20 Pro processor.

Manufactured using an advanced 2nm process, the chipset is expected to deliver higher performance while consuming less power. Together with iOS 27's redesigned CPU scheduler, the new processor could improve both speed and battery efficiency.

Apple's new C2 modem

The leaks also suggest Apple will replace the current C1X modem with its own next-generation C2 5G modem.

The new modem is expected to provide faster connectivity, improved signal stability, and lower power consumption, making the overall user experience even more efficient.

Ultra-thin design remains

YouTuber John Prosser has also shared renders that allegedly reveal the device's appearance.

According to Prosser, the iPhone Air 2 will retain its incredibly slim 5.6 mm profile while still accommodating the larger battery and additional rear camera.

Titanium construction is expected to remain, while new color options may include Lavender alongside Space Black, Cloud White, and Light Gold.

Expected launch

Industry reports indicate that Apple could unveil the iPhone Air 2 alongside the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e during the first half of 2027.

As always, these details are based on leaks and unofficial reports, meaning Apple could change the final specifications before launch.
