Xiaomi is preparing to expand its ecosystem once again, this time stepping into the smart tracking device market. According to recent leaks, the company is working on a new accessory designed to compete directly with Apple’s AirTag. The device is expected to be called “Xiaomi Tag” and will likely be introduced alongside the brand’s upcoming smartwatches and wireless earbuds.

Reports suggest that Xiaomi plans to unveil the tracking device together with the Xiaomi Watch 5, Watch S5, and Buds 6 models. The most likely launch window points to December 26, 2025, during the Xiaomi 17 Ultra event in China. While the company has not made an official announcement yet, multiple sources claim that the product is nearing completion.

UWB Technology and Smart Network Features

Although detailed technical specifications have not been fully revealed, the Xiaomi Tag is widely expected to support Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology. This feature allows highly precise short-range locating, helping users find misplaced items such as keys, wallets, or backpacks with much greater accuracy.
