WhatsApp lands on Apple Watch: Messaging at your wrist

After years of anticipation, WhatsApp has officially launched its dedicated app for the Apple Watch, giving users the freedom to stay connected without reaching for their phones.

The new app goes far beyond simple notification previews — users can now read full messages and access more of their chat history directly from their wrist.

Voice Replies, Emojis, and Stickers

With the Apple Watch app, you can record and send voice messages, reply with quick emoji reactions, and even view high-resolution images and stickers right on the watch face. Despite the compact display, the interface feels surprisingly polished and clear.

Calls Still Limited — But Handy

Due to platform restrictions, call functionality remains basic. You can’t make or receive calls through the watch itself, but incoming callers’ names appear on-screen — perfect for checking who’s calling without grabbing your phone.

Just the Beginning

According to WhatsApp, this release is “only the beginning,” with more features planned for future updates. As always, the app maintains end-to-end encryption, ensuring privacy even on the smaller screen.

WhatsApp for Apple Watch is now available for Apple Watch Series 4 and newer models running watchOS 10 or later — marking a new era of hands-free communication in Apple’s ecosystem.
