GTA 6 officially delayed again: Rockstar confirms new release date

Rockstar Games has officially delayed the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI once again, setting the new release date for November 19, 2026. The studio apologized to fans for the extended wait, explaining that the additional months will allow the team to deliver the level of quality that players expect from a GTA title.

Originally slated for a fall 2025 release, GTA 6 was first postponed to May 26, 2026. Now, with this latest delay, fans will have to wait an extra six months to finally experience the highly anticipated return to modern-day Vice City and the vast Leonida state.

In its official statement, Rockstar said:

“Hello everyone, Grand Theft Auto VI will now release on Thursday, November 19, 2026. We’re sorry to add a few more months to this long wait, but this time will ensure we deliver the quality you expect and deserve. Thank you again for your patience and support. We’re incredibly excited for players to experience the vast world of Leonida and the return to modern Vice City.”

The studio had previously released GTA 6’s second trailer just one day after the last delay announcement. Many now expect Rockstar to drop a new teaser or trailer soon. While the wait continues, this additional development time could be the key to ensuring that GTA 6 meets — or even exceeds — the monumental expectations surrounding it.
