President Joe Biden announced that he will not run in the presidential election scheduled for November 5. Biden made the announcement via his social media account, stating that he will focus on his remaining term and support Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic candidate.
In his message, Biden said, “I want to dedicate the remainder of my term to serving my people and tackling the challenges our country faces. Therefore, I will not be running in the 2024 election and I endorse Kamala Harris.”
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump responded to the news by saying, “I think defeating Kamala Harris will be easier than defeating Joe Biden.” Trump indicated that he would reevaluate his campaign strategy with Harris’s candidacy in mind.
