Williams, one of the most established teams in Formula 1, has announced that they have signed Carlos Sainz Jr. for the 2025 season. The Spanish driver will join Williams as a teammate to Alex Albon starting in 2025.
The team has secured Sainz with a two-year contract, including options for extensions. This strategic move aims to bolster Williams’ competitiveness, especially with the new F1 regulations set to take effect in 2026.
Expressing his excitement about the new deal, Carlos Sainz stated, “I am thrilled to announce that I will be racing for Williams starting in 2025. Williams is a team with a rich history of success, and I look forward to contributing to future achievements with this incredible team.”
Williams Team Principal Jost Capito commented on the signing: “Carlos’s skills and experience will be a significant asset to our team. We are eager to work with him and look forward to a promising future together.”
After a successful stint at Ferrari, Carlos Sainz’s move to Williams marks a significant step for both the driver and the team, aiming for greater accomplishments in the upcoming seasons.
