Patrick and Evelyne Sire, a couple from the town of Olonzac in southern France, were returning from a vacation to Spain’s Ebro Delta in August 2025. During a brief stop at a gas station near Girona, Filou is believed to have escaped through an open window of their camper. Despite extensive searches, the couple was unable to locate their cat and eventually feared the worst.

Months later, a miracle unfolded. Filou was discovered in a nearby village just a few hundred meters from the family’s home in France. The cat was weak and exhausted, but a microchip scan confirmed that it indeed belonged to the Sire family.
